GE plans to create in Brazil his first center of technology of Latin America

General Electric announced that plans to assemble a technology center in Brazil. It will be the fifth of the company, the previous ones work in Germany, India, China and United States. The announce was it done by the world president of the company, Jeffrey Immelt, after encounter with the minister of Science and Technology, Sergio Resende. The center will assist whole Latin America.
He also announced the closing of a contract of sale of 50 locomotives for Cosan Fuel and Lubricating, in total of US$ 130 million.
GE had already announced investments of US$ 118 million in Brazil, of the which US$ 50 million for a factory of equipments for health in Contagem (MG), US$ 35 million in a factory of maintenance of turbines of airplanes in Petropolis (RJ), US$ 21 million in the exploration of petroleum of the pre-salt and US$ 12 million in a factory of locomotives in Minas Gerais. In the first stage, those investments will generate 600 direct jobs.
