Brazilian electric and electronic industry billed R$ 123,1 billion in 2008, 10% the more than in 2007, said the Brazilian Association of the Electric and Electronic Industry (Abinee). In 2009, the estimate of the entity is of growth of 4%, totaling R$ 128,6 billion. In December, the projection was that the revenue of the segment could be enlarged in 7% this year.
The sections that had positive taxes in 2008 were the Telecommunications (23%), Industrial Equipments (18%), Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Electric power (GTD) and Computer science (12%), Industrial Automation (11%) and Electric Material of Installation (9%). The sectors of Electric Components, Electronics and of home appliances registered fall of 6% and 7% respectively.
As to the president of Abinee, Humberto Barbato, the apparels of cellular telephony contributed to the slowing down in Telecommunications.
About the reduction of 7% for 4% in the estimate of Abinee for the the revenue of the segment in 2009, Barbato affirms that she is not reason for pessimism and it just reflects the clearest picture delineated in the month of February.
“Evidently, we could notice that the growth, unhappily, it should not be more in that level than we waited in December, he affirmed.
The manager of economy of Abinee, Luiz César Rojao, said that the group of the reduction of prices, cost increase and negotiation resulted in an atmosphere that is shown favorable to the consumption of the apparels of cellular telephony and of computer science.
“In spite of the crisis, the notebooks continue selling enough. The electronic products in general tended to the price increase in function of the impact of the cost that they had due to the exchange depreciation”. As said Rojo, the tendency is that the computers are cheaper allowing that all of the social classes acquire those products.
