Wine-producing promote tasting in Holland and in Germany

03/31/2009
This is a week agitated for the section of wines of Brazil, that promote promotion actions in important poles of Europe. On Sunday (29) it began in Düsseldorf, in Germany, ProWein 2009. Until this Tuesday (31) ten Brazilians wine-producing participate in the event in the most market importer of wines of the world and the 4th country in consumption of this beverage.

Of Germany to Holland, on Wednesday (1) a tasting of wines will be accomplished in The Hague, in the Brazilian ambassador's residence in Netherlands, Jose Artur Denot Medeiros.

In ProWein 2009, Casa Valduga, Miolo, Aurora, Salton, Lidio Carraro, Boscato, Garibaldi, Lovara and Cordillera de Santanna  brands integrate the team of the Sectorial Project Wines From Brazil (WFB) - developed by the Brazilian Institute of the Wine (Ibravin) and by the Brazilian Agency of Promotion of Exports and Investments (Apex-Brazil) -, present for the 5 th time consecutive in the fair, that is in his16th edition. “As Germany is among the main markets of the world, it is obligatory to participate in ProWein, mainly to show the consistence and to growing evolution of quality of the Brazilian wines”, say the manager of Commercial Promotion of WFB, Andreia Gentilini Milan.

The persistence has been showing practical results. In 2007 and 2008, Germany passed from 7th to the 5th destiny of the Brazilian exports of wines. The growth was of 120%, with sales of 123 thousand liters in 2007 for 271,1 thousand liters last year. The financial return was also expressive, registering an increment of 81,6%. The Brazilian exports yielded US$ 248,2 thousand in 2007, jumping for US$ 450,9 thousand in 2008. “The tendency continues being of growth”, told Andreia.

With four years of investments in the German market, the fair of this year should bring results still better for the Brazilian wine-producing. “All the ten present companies in ProWein possess importer to Germany, what facilitates the export a lot”, tell Andreia, increasing that, of all the alcoholic drinks, the consumption of wines was the only that it didn't fall traditionally in the last years in the country known as the cradle of the beer. “The Brazilian wine is authentic, young and focused in the people that seek a more cheerful life and they are attentive to new experiences”.

To prove this description, Andreia informs that two tastings of the Brazilian products will be promoted in the stand of 60 square meters of WFB in ProWein. The ten wine-producing Brazilians received eight specialized journalists on Sunday (29), that prove the product on this Monday again (30), always starting from 13 o'clock. Last year, the fair received 33 thousand visitors of 50 countries, being 787 journalists of everyone. They were 3.160 exhibitors of 45 nations. “The most important is the visitors' profile: 83% are involved in the decision of purchase of their companies”, observes the manager of Commercial Promotion of WFB.

Holland - Holland is the 4th main destiny of Brazilian wines and the 3rd for the wine-producing exporters belonging to the Sectorial Project Wines From Brazil (WFB). A market with that importance needs an event. Therefore, next Wednesday (1) a tasting of wines of three hours will be accomplished in The Hague, in the Brazilian ambassador's residence in Netherlands, Jose Artur Denot Medeiros. “The Brazilian wine is authentic, young and focused in the people that seek a more cheerful life and they are attentive to new experiences”, it points Andréia.

Among the guests will be journalists, importers and Dutch sommeliers. They will have the opportunity to taste the best wines of eight Brazilian wine-producing: Aurora, Miolo, Salton, Casa Valduga, Lidio Carraro, Boscato, Garibaldi e Vinibrasil. The promotion is also under the responsibility of Ibravin and of Apex Brasil.

“Holland possesses very peculiar characteristics of consumption, it is a country open to new products”, it evaluates the manager of Commercial Promotion of WFB. “The consumers like wines cheerful and modern, as the Brazilians”, it comments on Andreia. As to her, Valduga, Miolo, Aurora, Salton and Vinibrasil already export to the that country. Mioloe, for instance, it markets their products for an important net of supermarkets,  Albert Heijn, responsible net for 30% of the purchases of wines in Netherlands.

The growth of the sales to Holland is exciting. In 2007, 181,2 thousand liters were exported, that yielded US$ 365,8 thousand, setting the country as 5th larger importer of the Brazilian wines. In 2008, the results were still better. They were 340,4 thousand liters put at the Dutch market - an increment of 88%. This volume generated a revenue of US$ 783,6 thousand last year, 114% superior to 2007.

The increment in the exports was still more impressive of 2007 for 2008 among the 34 wine-producing that integrate Wines From Brazil, because the volume of wines exported to Holland went up 140% and the values was multiplied in the order of 138%. “the participation of the wines produced in developing countries on the total mattered by Netherlands is the largest from Europe”, reminds Andreia, explaining the Brazilian conquests.

The Dutch market of wines is quite open and there are possibilities for wines of all of the countries. Unlike the other sections of alcoholic beverages, the market of wines is not dominated by marks. In the total, there is more than 30 thousand different available wines. “The market of wines is the only of the alcoholic beverages that it is growing in Netherlands”, it commemorates the manager of Commercial Promotion of WFB.

Exports-In 2008, the exports of Brazilian wines added US$ 4,68 million - the double of the sales of 2007. The objective for this year is to export US$ 6 million. To reach this growth in the exports of wines made in Brazil, Ibravin and Apex-Brasil programmed the participation in 22 fairs and international events around the world. The premiere was in Dubai, in Fbruary, in the event Flavors of Brazil.
