Export of swine meat increases 18% in the first three months of the year

Unlike the bovine segments of meats and of chicken, the producing of swine got to increase the exports in the first three months of 2009, in comparison with the performance of the exports in the same period of last year. While the external sales of bovine meat and of chicken decreased, respectively, 20,1% and 5,9%, the one of swine had increment of 17,9%, reaching 116, 3 thousand tons.
In spite of the decrease of the sold volume of chicken, the value in Real collected with the exports had a small discharge of 1,7%. The same didn't happen with the bovine meat, that received 13,7% less than last year.
Besides the significant increase of the amount of swine negotiated with other countries, the amount collected with the sales went up 34,8% with the valorization of the dollar, (R$ 567,7 million).
